¡Democracia Real YA!, which stands for Real Democracy Now, is a non-political movement that arose massively just a couple of weeks ago all over Spain in response to the current social, political and economical situation. As it is stated in the official Manifesto, democracy belongs to people, and it's time for that very basic principle to be finally put into practice. Why now? Because we are outraged and we simply can't take it anymore. Enough for so much in the hands of so very few! You can read more about ¡Democracia Real YA! on wikipedia and the official web page (in Spanish).

However, we believe this is not just a local Spanish problem, but rather a global issue. It's a system in crisis.
From Manchester, England, a group of (mostly) Spanish people have decided to try to do our bit, supporting the 'outraged' because that's exactly the way we feel, and so here we are, attempting to raise our voice as loud as we can. For starters, we've translated the official proposals into English. You can read them here. Also, visit and leave your proposals on the Forum while the blog is not fully operative.
It doesn't matter where you come from; this is a global problem that's affecting every single one of us. If you think things are not right, and want to do something about it, join us!

We are gathering every Friday evening, from 7pm on, in Picadilly Gardens, right in front of the Queen Victoria Statue. Join us this Friday, the 27th!

Soon to come:
- More on Real Democracy Manchester: more on who we are and how we are organised
- Acta I / Minute I
- A section where you can leave your proposals, comments or ideas

Stay in tune!
