Join us in the Spanish Revolution Assembly in Manchester, Friday 27th, 7pm.

Join the Spanish Revolution in an Assembly this Friday 27th at 7pm, Picadilly Gardens:

We are undergoing a feeling of change in our collective minds. The abuses committed by the enterprises, banking institutions and politicians have generated a deep resentment that has been growing in the hearts of a population searching for transparency. Therefore, the seeds of the revolution, irrigated with the failures of all these heartless institutions, have borne their fruits. Fruits that taste of respect, tolerance, coordination, cooperation and equality. The peaceful protests that are now taking place in Spain are just the first spark that should create a chain reaction in all the other western countries.

Thus we, a good number of the Spanish people living in Manchester, are gathering daily to try to tackle our objectives, which must pass on the acquired knowledge of the protests from our country, and the main elements that can produce the near and possible success of these massive protests to other countries. Because the objective that brings us all together is the same, because all the problems that affect us are the same, and because we are all people, before belonging to any country. We want to be treated as such.

So we can all discuss the topics concerning our objectives, and in order to spread our message among the people of Manchester, we will hold a meeting for all, this Friday, 27th of May at 19:00 at the Queen Victoria statue in Piccadilly Gardens. Just in case it is raining, the meeting point will be at the under cover area of Market street at the same time.

We hope you all attend.

Esperamos vuestra asistencia.

¡Democracia Real YA!, which stands for Real Democracy Now, is a non-political movement that arose massively just a couple of weeks ago all over Spain in response to the current social, political and economical situation. As it is stated in the official Manifesto, democracy belongs to people, and it's time for that very basic principle to be finally put into practice. Why now? Because we are outraged and we simply can't take it anymore. Enough for so much in the hands of so very few! You can read more about ¡Democracia Real YA! on wikipedia and the official web page (in Spanish).

However, we believe this is not just a local Spanish problem, but rather a global issue. It's a system in crisis.
From Manchester, England, a group of (mostly) Spanish people have decided to try to do our bit, supporting the 'outraged' because that's exactly the way we feel, and so here we are, attempting to raise our voice as loud as we can. For starters, we've translated the official proposals into English. You can read them here. Also, visit and leave your proposals on the Forum while the blog is not fully operative.
It doesn't matter where you come from; this is a global problem that's affecting every single one of us. If you think things are not right, and want to do something about it, join us!

We are gathering every Friday evening, from 7pm on, in Picadilly Gardens, right in front of the Queen Victoria Statue. Join us this Friday, the 27th!

Soon to come:
- More on Real Democracy Manchester: more on who we are and how we are organised
- Acta I / Minute I
- A section where you can leave your proposals, comments or ideas

Stay in tune!
